We have really been looking forward to experiencing Springville's Art City Days. And it turned out to be a lot of fun! (Our one complaint is that the city website is completely unhelpful! Information is spotty, contacts don't return your calls...it presumes that you've lived here forever and don't really need information!)

On Friday we woke early in order to get to Springville Junior High School's field, where hot air balloons were scheduled to lift off at 6:30 am. The earliest one didn't lift off till 7 am, but it was fun to see them get filled up.

Supposedly this is Utah's most photographed event. (Or perhaps just Utah County's??) It was a feast for the eyes.

Afterwards we went to the fire station for a pancake breakfast. Yummy! David liked seeing the white fire engines!

Later that day David and I went to the Children's Parade, which was super low-key. Then we went to the Art Museum where the Children's Festival was being held. Music, and lots and lots of arts and crafts activities. David is still too young to really do them, but I can't wait to
bring him back next year.

We did go inside the Museum so I could look at the Flower Show. David was enchanted by the machine there. He's been fascinated with it in the past, too.

On Saturday I took the Praxis in the morning. I was so bugged that the test didn't even start for a full hour after it was scheduled, plus we couldn't leave till the entire testing time was up, even though I finished 30 minutes early. I had thought I'd be home by 10 am, to rush down to the Art City Days Parade. I didn't get home till 11 am, and so we didn't get to the parade till nearly noon. Oh well. We saw enough to know it was a parade, complete with waving beauties! (Not something we did in Corvallis!!)
