At noon my mom wrote this:
Mark just got a call that he's suppose to go to the SLC airport ASAP. They will try to fly out at 3 pm. I'm not sure if they will only get to Miami or fly direct to Haiti. I know he's anxious to get going.
Anna's husband Jim had to be in SLC anyway, so all of them drove up. Taylor and I decided (with all the grading I had) to skip the two hour commute for a 10 minute meeting with Dad. But then by 2 pm or so we heard this from my mom:
Not flying out until tomorrow now. Due to the airport in Haiti, everything changes every hour.
So Anna got to see Dad for more than 10 minutes! In fact, she helped him get more supplies needed for the trip, took these photos, and wrote this:
Attached are some pics of Dad with all the amazing supplies (duffle bags full!) he's arranged. Not only was he able to get a bunch of medical supplies from the humanitarian center/hospitals, but tonight when he realized there were a few things he felt still were needed, I took him down to the ER, and he went in and got them to donate some more!He was putting together little packs for the doctors tonight with a bunch of necessities like syringes, gloves, anesthesia, needles, gauze, stuff for making casts, etc. on Judy and Dixie's living room floor. It was so great to see all the stuff he's gathered. Sure makes me proud of Daddio and his big heart!
